About Russian Cycling Federation

Russian Cycling Federation was founded in 1990. It comprises 63 sports organizations of subjects of Russian Federation.
Russian Cycling Federation is admitted by the Russian Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sport of Russia, the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the European Cycling Union (UEC) as the only organization which has the exclusive authority to manage the development of cycling in Russia, to organize the national and international cycling competitions in Russia, to represent the cycling sports in the international sports relations: to implement relations and contacts with the International Cycling Union, national cycling federations in other countries, as well as other foreign, Russian and international organizations.

Russian Cycling Federation is developing the following cycling disciplines:
- Track Cycling;
- Road Cycling;
- Mountain Bike;
- BMX;
- Trials;
- Cyclo-cross;
- Cyclo-ball;
- Cycling tourism;
- Paracycling;
- Other cycling disciplines recognized by the International Cycling Union.
On 22.12.2011 the Russian Cycling Federation passed the state accreditation for the 4 years period (the order of the Ministry of Sport № 20 of 23.01.2012).
The main activities of the Russian Cycling Federation are:
- preparing of Russian National Teams for the main cycling competitions of the year and the Olympic Games;
- organization of international and domestic cycling competitions in Russia (more than 140 competitions per year);
- development and promotion of cycling in Russia;
- development and support of youth cycling.
Every year the calendar of international events held in Russia is expanding. For example, in 2011 Moscow hosted the Junior Track World Championships, and in 2012 — the European Mountain Bike Championships.
